CIMAC

CIMAC, the International Council on Combustion Engines (Conseil International des Machines a Combustion), is a worldwide industry association founded in 1951 and headquartered in Frankfurt that advances knowledge on internal-combustion engines, gas turbines, and their fuels. It is not a regulator. CIMAC issues consensus Recommendations and Guidelines, runs the triennial CIMAC Congress, and its working groups shape practice on heavy-fuel quality, lube oils, and engine emissions. Its membership spans engine builders, oil majors, classification societies, and research bodies, and its fuel recommendations underpin parts of ISO 8217.
