Daihatsu DK-20

The Daihatsu DK-20 is a medium-speed four-stroke marine diesel with a 200 mm bore and 300 mm stroke, built in inline 3, 5, 6, and 8-cylinder forms. It runs at 720 to 900 rpm and is used mainly as a generator prime mover (genset) and as propulsion for small craft, fishing vessels, and ferries. The engine accepts marine diesel oil and heavy fuel oil up to about 700 cSt at 50 C, with a mean effective pressure near 2.2 to 2.45 MPa. Daihatsu Diesel of Japan markets the DK family widely for ship auxiliary power, with the 5DK-20 and 6DK-20 the common genset ratings.
