- Bidirectional Converter
- Power electronic stage that allows energy to flow into and out of a battery bank on a DC grid.

- Restoration of main switchboard from emergency generator after a blackout.
- Blackout
- Total loss of main electrical power on the ship requiring restart from the emergency switchboard.
