ECDIS-N (Navy variant)

ECDIS-N is the naval variant of the Electronic Chart Display and Information System, adapted for warships under STANAG 4564 (the NATO standard for Warship ECDIS, WECDIS), which extends the civil ECDIS standard IMO MSC.232(82). It adds the Additional Military Layers (AML) product set for tactical and warfare data alongside civil S-57/S-101 ENCs, plus interfaces for navigation in restricted or denied-GNSS conditions. The base chart engine stays IHO-compliant so a WECDIS can display standard ENCs.
