Future-Ready Maritime Workforce

Singapore’s maritime workforce-development agenda led by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA, established 1996) to prepare seafarers and shore professionals for digitalization, decarbonization, and automation. It funds skills training, conversion programs, and scholarships through bodies including the Singapore Maritime Foundation and SkillsFuture, aiming to keep the Singapore maritime cluster competitive. It is a policy and training program rather than a degree-granting academy or an STCW certificate.
