IACS Recommendation 166

IACS Recommendation 166, Recommendation on Cyber Resilience, is the single consolidated non-mandatory guidance the International Association of Classification Societies published in 2020, merging its earlier set of twelve cyber recommendations into one document. It addresses the design and construction of new ships and their onboard systems and supported the development of the mandatory UR E26 and E27. A corrected version (Corr.2) was issued in April 2022. Rec.166 informs class practice but, unlike a Unified Requirement, does not bind members.
