International Code of Signals letter I, meaning "I am altering my course to port."

India, letter I of the International Code of Signals, means “I am altering my course to port.” The flag is yellow with a single black disc at its center. Flown singly it is the port-side counterpart to Echo and is read together with the COLREGs maneuvering signals (two short blasts for an alteration to port). Bridge watchkeepers use it to make a course change explicit to vessels in sight of one another.
