Inter-American Naval Conference
E2. Naval, defence and maritime law enforcementDefinition
Hemispheric naval cooperation forum.
A hemispheric forum bringing together the navy chiefs of the Americas to coordinate cooperation, interoperability, and shared maritime-security priorities. Held periodically since 1959, the conference (Spanish: Conferencia Naval Interamericana) supports confidence-building, combined exercises, and information exchange among Western Hemisphere navies. It is a consultative body rather than a treaty organization, so it produces agreed positions and cooperation programs, not binding obligations.
