The ISO standard specifying requirements for a security management system, revised as ISO 28000:2022 (published 15 March 2022) under the title Security and resilience: Security management systems: Requirements. The 2022 edition broadened scope from supply-chain-only to any organization and adopted ISO’s Harmonized Structure so it integrates with ISO 9001, 14001, and 27001. Certification supports trusted-trader recognition under schemes like C-TPAT and the EU AEO program, easing customs treatment.
