A public maritime college at Castine, Maine, founded in 1941, awarding bachelor’s and master’s degrees in marine engineering, nautical science, logistics, and ocean studies. Deck and engineering majors qualify for US Coast Guard licenses to STCW 1978 (as amended Manila 2010) standard and train aboard the schoolship State of Maine. Federal training-ship support reaches it through the Maritime Administration’s state maritime academy program.
