Maxi Yacht

A maxi yacht is a large racing yacht above about 60 feet length overall, the top end of monohull racing, ranging from the Maxi72 box-rule class up to the 100-foot-plus supermaxis that contest line honors in races such as the Sydney Hobart and Fastnet. The term once referred to the largest boats rateable under the International Offshore Rule; today it covers grand-prix custom raceboats whose size and sail area put them in their own class for both inshore series and ocean records.
