NYPE 2015

The New York Produce Exchange form is the dominant dry-cargo time charter. The current edition, NYPE 2015, jointly produced by ASBA, BIMCO, and the Singapore Maritime Foundation, rewrote the 1946 and 1993 forms with modern off-hire, speed-and-consumption, bunker, and BIMCO sanctions clauses. The Inter-Club Agreement is built around NYPE for splitting cargo claims, and the form’s clause 8 employment-and-indemnity provision is the route by which a charterer’s orders shift liability to the charterer.
