Operation Prosperity Guardian

Operation Prosperity Guardian is the US-led multinational defensive coalition announced in December 2023 to protect Red Sea shipping from Houthi attacks, operating under the Combined Maritime Forces umbrella as Combined Task Force 153. It coordinates escort, air defense, and interdiction of incoming missiles and drones across the Bab-el-Mandeb approaches. It runs alongside the separate EU mission Aspides, the two sharing awareness while keeping distinct mandates and rules of engagement.
