Piraeus Maritime Cluster

The maritime concentration at Piraeus, the port of Athens and the operating heart of Greek shipping. It groups shipowning offices, sale-and-purchase and chartering brokers, ship managers, marine insurers, classification offices, and the Piraeus Bar’s admiralty lawyers, alongside Piraeus University of Maritime Studies. The container terminals at Piraeus are operated by China’s COSCO Shipping Ports under a concession that made the port a major Mediterranean gateway. Piraeus anchors the wider Greek maritime cluster.
