S-124 Navigational Warnings

S-124 is the IHO S-100-based product specification for navigational warnings, delivering NAVAREA, coastal, and local warnings as structured, georeferenced digital objects that ECDIS can plot directly on the chart rather than as free text read off NAVTEX or SafetyNET. Each warning carries geometry, validity period, and category, so the system can flag affected route legs. It complements the GMDSS Maritime Safety Information broadcast under IMO resolution A.706(17) and the WWNWS by adding a machine-readable layer.
