Sea trial measurement plan (STMP)

A sea-trial measurement plan, or STMP, is the document agreed before the trial that fixes how speed, power, rpm, and the environment will be measured and corrected, so the result is reproducible and defensible under ISO 15016:2015. It specifies the trial area and water depth (deep enough to avoid shallow-water correction or the correction method if not), the loading condition and draft, the number and power steps of the double runs, the speed source (differential GPS), the power source (calibrated torsionmeter), the wind and wave instrumentation, and the analysis route for the wind, wave, current, and water-property corrections. Owner, yard, and class agree the STMP so neither side disputes the corrected speed afterward.
