ISO 15016
B4. Shipbuilding, Materials, Sea Trials, Retrofits and RecyclingDefinition
Sea trial speed/power correction procedure.
ISO 15016 specifies the procedure for analyzing speed trial data and correcting the measured ship speed and power to the contractual no-wind, no-wave, deep-water reference condition. It defines the corrections for wind, waves, water temperature and density, shallow water, displacement, and current, the last removed by running reciprocal double runs on the measured mile. The 2015 edition is the method referenced by the EEDI verification guidelines in MEPC.1/Circ.815 and is the basis of the speed-power curve a builder must demonstrate at sea trial.
