STCW V/1-1 for oil and chemical tankers.
Tanker specialist endorsements certify officers and ratings to work cargo on tankers under STCW Chapter V. Basic training applies to all tanker crew; advanced training under Regulation V/1-1 covers oil and chemical tankers and under V/1-2 covers liquefied gas carriers. Anyone with immediate responsibility for loading, discharge, tank cleaning, or care in transit must hold the advanced certificate, which requires basic training plus a period of approved seagoing service on the relevant tanker type.
