LPG Tanker Specialist

An LPG tanker specialist holds the STCW Regulation V/1-2 advanced training certificate for liquefied gas tankers, required of masters, chief mates, chief and second engineers, and anyone with immediate responsibility for cargo on a gas carrier. The competence standard in Code Table A-V/1-2 covers cargo containment, reliquefaction, cargo handling under pressure and at cryogenic temperature, and the hazards specific to LNG and LPG. The endorsement builds on basic tanker training plus approved service on gas carriers.
