THETIS-EU

THETIS is the port State control inspection database hosted and operated by the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) in support of the New Inspection Regime under EU Directive 2009/16/EC. It assigns every eligible ship calling at an EU or EEA port a risk profile from ship type, age, flag, recognized organization, and company performance, then schedules and records inspections accordingly. THETIS also serves the wider Paris MoU area, giving PSC authorities a shared platform for reporting, consulting, correcting, and publishing inspection results. The system enforces the targeting, harmonization, and inspection requirements the Directive added to the previous PSC system.
