THETIS-MRV

THETIS-MRV is the online reporting module of the EMSA THETIS platform used to administer the EU Monitoring, Reporting and Verification regime under Regulation (EU) 2015/757. Shipping companies submit annual emissions reports through it for ships of 5,000 GT and above calling at EU or EEA ports, and accredited verifiers confirm the reported CO2 emissions and operational data. From 1 January 2024 the scope was extended so companies also monitor and report methane and nitrous oxide emissions. THETIS-MRV holds the verified emissions data that also feeds the EU Emissions Trading System obligations for shipping.
