VIQ7

VIQ7 was the seventh edition of the OCIMF Vessel Inspection Questionnaire, the standardized checklist a SIRE inspector completed when inspecting a tanker for the Ship Inspection Report Programme. It set the questions covering hardware, procedures, and crew that charterers reviewed when vetting a vessel. OCIMF withdrew the option to request a VIQ7 inspection on 2 September 2024, when the digital SIRE 2.0 regime became its only tanker inspection tool. SIRE 2.0 replaces the fixed checklist with a risk-based compiled questionnaire and adds a human-element focus through performance influencing factors, generated per inspection rather than applied uniformly.
