Z-Spar is a brand of aluminum masts, booms, and rigging hardware made by Z-Spars, founded in France in 1973 and one of the larger spar builders worldwide. In the United States the line is supplied by U.S. Spars, Inc. of Gainesville, Florida, which builds Z-Spar masts and furling systems for production builders such as Hunter, Beneteau, and Com-Pac. A mast section is the extruded aluminum profile that determines the spar’s stiffness and weight; Z-Spar offers dinghy and keelboat sections with matched fittings.
