ABS class notation framework for cyber resilience.

ABS CyberSafety is the American Bureau of Shipping’s cyber-resilience program for marine and offshore assets, set out in ABS Guide 251 (Cybersecurity Implementation for the Marine and Offshore Industries, CyberSafety Volume 2). It awards optional class notations on a risk-based ladder: CS-Ready, CS-System, CS1 (basic informed cybersecurity), and CS2, with expanded CS1+/CS2+/CS3+ tiers covering both ship and company facility. The owner runs a risk assessment, builds a management plan, then selects controls. ABS issued the industry’s first cyber-safety notation in 2016.
