ARC, Atlantic Rally for Cruisers

The ARC, or Atlantic Rally for Cruisers, is an annual downwind transatlantic rally organized by World Cruising Club, sailing roughly 2,700 nautical miles from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia. First run in 1986, it departs each late November on the northeast trade-wind route and draws over 150 boats a year, mostly cruising yachts crossing in company for safety rather than pure racing. It is the largest organized transocean rally for cruising sailors.
