Terminology of the world’s physical bunkering geography: the major hubs and anchorages such as Fujairah Anchorage A1, Singapore, the ARA region, Algeciras and Gibraltar, together with the suppliers, barge logistics, storage terminals and floating-storage arrangements behind VLSFO, IFO 380 and MGO delivery. Includes the firms, blending operations and offtake structures that move marine fuel from terminal to receiving vessel.

Aegean Marine Petroleum Network: Greek bunker supplier that filed Chapter 11 in November 2018 following an accounting fraud disclosure and was subsequently acquired by Mercuria.
Aframax bunker tanker: Larger end of the bunker delivery fleet, sometimes used as a floating storage and offtake unit in Fujairah and the ARA region for VLSFO blending.
Algeciras: Spanish port at the Strait of Gibraltar hosting the busiest Mediterranean ferry corridor to Tangier Med and Ceuta.

Augusta: Sicilian port on the east coast, hub for ENI's Priolo refinery output and a regional bunkering point for Mediterranean tramp tonnage.

BAF: Bunker Adjustment Factor, fuel surcharge added to ocean freight to recover bunker price moves.

CAFI: Calculated Aromaticity Function Index, a stability parameter used alongside CCAI in heavy fuel oil specification.
Cape Town: South African south coast port supplied by Astron Energy (formerly Caltex) and Engen, serving rounding traffic between Europe and Asia.
Caribbean bunker market: Comprises Curacao, Aruba, Bahamas Freeport, and Trinidad, with Puma Energy and World Fuel Services as principal physical suppliers.
