Definition

French production yacht builder, the world's largest by volume.

The Beneteau Group, founded as a Vendee fishing-boat builder in 1884, is the world’s largest production sailing-yacht builder by volume, making sail and power boats under marques including Beneteau, Jeanneau, Lagoon, CNB, and Prestige. Its industrial molding of GRP hulls from shared tooling, with designs by names such as Farr and Berret-Racoupeau, brought cruising and cruiser-racer yachts to a mass market and underpins the charter fleets of the Mediterranean and Caribbean.
