Catamaran CTV

A catamaran crew transfer vessel (CTV) is a twin-hulled day boat, roughly 18 to 30 m, that runs wind-farm technicians from port to turbines and back within a shift. The catamaran form gives deck area and a fine motion at the bow fender, where the vessel pushes against a turbine boat-landing so technicians step across on the friction of the fender. CTVs handle near-shore sites and good-weather windows; offshore farms and walk-to-work transfers shift to service operation vessels (SOVs) with motion-compensated gangways. Distinct from the SWATH and trimaran variants used for better seakeeping.
