CREWMAN B 2025
C2. Ship operations, crewing and technical managementDefinition
BIMCO crew management agreement, lump-sum version.
CREWMAN B 2025 is the BIMCO standard crew management agreement on a lump-sum basis, in which the crew managers supply the crew to the vessel as principals and as the legal employers of the seafarers for an agreed lump sum. The Documentary Committee adopted it on 4 March 2025 alongside CREWMAN A, replacing the 2009 editions and importing the SHIPMAN 2024 boilerplate, predelivery crew provisions, owner data access, and end-of-contract record transfer. Because the manager employs the crew and carries the wage and payroll obligation under the lump sum, CREWMAN B shifts more crew-cost risk to the manager than the cost-plus CREWMAN A. Both forms are available in SmartCon with explanatory notes.
