CY/CY

CY/CY (container yard to container yard) is a haulage and responsibility term for a full-container-load move where the carrier takes the box at the origin container yard and delivers it to the destination container yard. It is the FCL/FCL combination in the standard CY/CFS matrix: CY/CY (FCL out, FCL in), CFS/CFS (LCL both ends), CY/CFS, and CFS/CY. Under CY/CY the shipper stuffs and the consignee unstuffs the container; the line handles only yard-to-yard ocean carriage plus terminal handling, with inland legs arranged as merchant or carrier haulage. The B/L names the service so terminal handling charges and free time attach to the correct party.
