Destination delivery charge

C3. Logistics, freight forwarding and multimodal trade

Definition

DDC, liner charge at destination.

A destination delivery charge (DDC) is an accessorial fee a carrier levies at the discharge port to cover moving a full container from the vessel to the terminal gate, including crane lifts, drayage within the terminal, and gate fees. It covers the same services at destination as a terminal handling charge or terminal receiving charge, applies only to full-container-load (FCL) cargo, and is usually billed to the consignee. DDC is not set by any authority and varies by terminal and lane, commonly running 150to150 to 500 per container. It is separate from the ocean freight and from any inland haulage beyond the gate.
