Det Norske Veritas Academy

The professional training arm of DNV, the Norwegian classification society headquartered at Hovik near Oslo. DNV (formed by the 2013 merger of Det Norske Veritas, founded 1864, and Germanischer Lloyd) is a recognized organization that classes ships and offshore units and certifies management systems. Its academy delivers courses in ISM and ISPS, classification and survey practice, ISO management-system standards, maritime cyber security, and decarbonization, aimed at owners, yard staff, and class surveyors rather than at seafarer certificate pathways.
