FAST (Free and Secure Trade)
E1. Maritime security, geopolitics and riskDefinition
US-Canada/Mexico expedited cargo program.
A commercial-driver and carrier program that expedites pre-approved, low-risk shipments across the US land borders with Canada and Mexico. Run by US Customs and Border Protection, FAST gives dedicated lanes and reduced inspection to drivers, carriers, and importers enrolled in the trusted-trader schemes (C-TPAT in the US, Partners in Protection in Canada). It is a land-border facilitation program; it does not cover ocean container entry, which CSI and the Importer Security Filing handle.
