FONASBA, the Federation of National Associations of Ship Brokers and Agents, is the London-based international federation founded in 1969 that represents national ship-broker and ship-agent associations. Its membership covers more than 70 countries through national associations plus associate and candidate members. FONASBA holds consultative status at the IMO, UNCTAD, and the World Customs Organisation, and it publishes widely used standard documents including the FONASBA Standard Liner and General Agency Agreements and the FONASBA Quality Standard accreditation for agents and brokers.
