Fleet Broadband (FB)

FleetBroadband (FB) is Inmarsat’s maritime L-band IP service on the I-4 satellites, delivering standard IP to about 432 kbps plus on-demand streaming IP for guaranteed rates, alongside voice and ISDN. It runs through compact stabilized antennas (the FB150, FB250, and FB500 classes by antenna size) and stays available across roughly 70N to 70S. FleetBroadband is widely fitted as the resilient backup to Ka-band VSAT; in Fleet Xpress it serves as the automatic L-band failover when the Global Xpress Ka link drops.
