Symbol of the Mission to Seafarers.
The flying angel is the emblem of the Mission to Seafarers, an angel in flight that derives from the angel of Revelation and has marked seafarers’ welfare centers and chaplaincy since the nineteenth century. The symbol identifies a Mission center or ship visitor in ports worldwide and is one of the most recognized marks in seafarer welfare, alongside the Stella Maris star and the Sailors’ Society identity.
