GBR Sail Numbers
F4. Recreational Boating, Yachting and SportDefinition
World Sailing national prefix for the United Kingdom.
GBR is the World Sailing national letter prefix carried on the sails of British-registered racing boats, for example GBR followed by the hull’s class or registration number. World Sailing (formerly ISAF) assigns each member nation a three-letter code under the Racing Rules of Sailing and the class rules; GBR identifies Great Britain, USA the United States, AUS Australia, and so on. The prefix plus number lets race officers and rivals identify a boat on the water and in results. The Royal Yachting Association administers GBR allocations for British classes.
