Hand-over protocol
B4. Shipbuilding, Materials, Sea Trials, Retrofits and RecyclingDefinition
Set of documents at delivery.
The hand-over protocol is the package of documents signed at delivery that transfers the ship from builder to owner, centered on the protocol of delivery and acceptance that records the date and time title passes. It bundles the trial protocols, the punch list with the closeout status of each item, the class and statutory certificates issued for the initial surveys, the lightship and inclining results, the loading manual and stability booklet, the machinery shop-test and commissioning records, and the spares and guarantee schedule. Acceptance under the protocol starts the contractual guarantee period. Any reserved deficiency is listed so it is pursued as a guarantee claim rather than a delivery bar.
