Definition

Hyundai Heavy Industries medium-speed engine family.

The HiMSEN H21/32 is a medium-speed four-stroke diesel from Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI Engine and Machinery), with a 210 mm bore and 320 mm stroke, built in inline 5 to 9-cylinder versions. HiMSEN (Hi-touch Marine and Stationary Engine) is HHI’s own engine line, developed to reduce dependence on licensed designs. The H21/32 delivers roughly 1,000 to 1,980 kW at 720 to 1,000 rpm and serves chiefly as a generator prime mover (genset) aboard merchant ships, plus propulsion on smaller vessels. It runs on heavy fuel oil or marine gas oil and meets IMO Tier II, with Tier III via selective catalytic reduction.
