Laser 2000

F4. Recreational Boating, Yachting and Sport

Definition

Two-person trapeze dinghy.

The Laser 2000 is a 4.44 m (14 ft 6 in) two-person dinghy designed by Phil Morrison and launched in 1998 by Laser/Performance Sailcraft as a stable family and training boat, with a roto-molded or GRP hull, single trapeze, and furling asymmetric spinnaker. Despite the Laser brand name it is unrelated to the single-handed Laser (now ILCA Dinghy). It is a one-design club and training class, mostly in the UK and Europe, and has never been an Olympic class.
