Maritime Connectivity Platform (MCP)
E3. Technology, digitalization and smart shippingDefinition
IALA-supported e-navigation identity/service registry.
The Maritime Connectivity Platform (MCP), formerly the Maritime Cloud, is an open framework of identity and service registries that lets maritime actors and systems find, trust, and exchange information securely across networks. Its core components are the Maritime Identity Registry (a PKI for unique, authenticated digital identities), the Maritime Service Registry (a directory of available services), and the Maritime Messaging Service. IALA supports MCP as enabling infrastructure for IMO e-navigation and the Maritime Service Portfolios, giving ships and shore a common, vendor-neutral way to discover and consume digital services.
