Melges 32
F4. Recreational Boating, Yachting and SportDefinition
International one-design sportsboat.
A 32 ft (9.7 m) one-design planing sportboat designed by Reichel/Pugh and built by Melges Performance Sailboats, launched in 2005. A larger sibling to the Melges 24, it carries a fixed bulb keel, a square-top mainsail, a retractable carbon bowsprit, and a big asymmetric spinnaker, crewed by six to seven. Built for grand-prix-style one-design racing with mixed professional and amateur crews, it ran an international circuit through the 2010s. It is a one-design class, not an Olympic boat.
