Oil Record Book Part I

Oil Record Book Part I records machinery-space operations such as ballasting and cleaning of oil fuel tanks, bilge water disposal, and oily residue handling. It is required on every oil tanker of 150 GT and above and every other ship of 400 GT and above under MARPOL Annex I. Each entry is signed by the officer in charge and the whole page by the master; false or missing entries are a frequent basis for port-state detentions and prosecutions.
