ORC International

ORC International is the full-measurement handicap of the Offshore Racing Congress, built on a Velocity Prediction Program that models a specific boat’s speed at every wind angle and strength. Rather than one number it can produce several time allowances, including separate windward-leeward and all-purpose figures across wind bands, so scoring can match the day’s conditions. The VPP is openly published, which is the philosophical opposite of IRC’s unpublished formula. ORC Club is the simplified version for club racing using a reduced measurement set.
