ROM 2.0-11

C4. Ports, terminals and coastal/marine civil engineering

Definition

Spanish maritime works recommendation for design of berthing and mooring areas.

ROM 2.0-11 is the Spanish Recommendations for the design and construction of berthing and mooring structures, published by Puertos del Estado in 2012 as the first approved document of the ROM Series 2. It applies to the planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance, repair, and dismantling of berths, jetties, and dolphins that form the loading and unloading subsystem of ships. It sets design actions including berthing energy, mooring-line and bollard loads, and environmental loads, and allows both deterministic-probabilistic and full probabilistic verification of safety and operational levels. ROM 2.0-11 is the berthing and mooring counterpart to BS 6349-4 in Spanish practice.
