S-111 Surface Currents

S-111 is the IHO S-100-based product specification for surface-current data, encoding current speed and direction on a time-stepped geospatial grid or at observation points for display in ECDIS and other e-navigation systems. It lets bridge teams see set and drift along a route in machine-readable form rather than from separate tidal-stream atlases, supporting track-control set compensation and schedule planning. It sits alongside S-104 water levels and S-102 bathymetry in the S-100 surface-navigation product family.
