Sanctions Screening

Automated checking of parties, vessels, and cargo against sanctions lists (the OFAC SDN List, the EU consolidated list, the UK OFSI list, and UN designations) before and during a transaction. Screening matches names, IMO numbers, MMSIs, and other identifiers, applying fuzzy logic for transliteration and alias variants, and re-screens on list updates. It implements the risk-based due-diligence expected under FATF and recommended in OFAC’s 2020 maritime advisory. A positive hit triggers escalation, investigation, and possible blocking or reporting.
