SBSA (Smart Bridge Situation Awareness)

SBSA, smart bridge situation awareness, is a marketing and design label for human-machine-interface concepts that aggregate radar, AIS, ECDIS, and camera data into a consolidated awareness display for the watchkeeper. It is not a defined IMO term or standard; the closest formal work is the IMO S-mode guidelines for standardized navigation displays (MSC.1/Circ.1609, 2019) and the ergonomic standard IEC 62288. Treat specific SBSA product claims against those baselines rather than as a regulated capability.
