Definition

Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan required for all ships of 400 GT and above under MARPOL Annex VI; Parts II and III apply to ships of 5,000 GT and above.

The Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan is a ship-specific document required for all ships of 400 GT and above under MARPOL Annex VI Reg.26. Part I lists the efficiency measures the ship uses, such as weather routing, trim optimization, and hull cleaning. Part II, mandatory for ships of 5,000 GT and above, is the fuel oil consumption data collection plan feeding the IMO DCS. Part III, added with the CII regime, sets the ship’s implementation plan to meet its required carbon intensity and carries the corrective action plan if the rating falls to D or E.
