SIRE, the OCIMF tanker inspection database that lets oil majors and charterers share a common, structured vessel-inspection report rather than each inspecting independently. The 2022 SIRE 2.0 revision moved to a digital, risk-based, partly question-pooled inspection conducted on a tablet, with results weighted to the ship’s risk profile. A current, clean SIRE report is a practical precondition for chartering most tankers.
